Chapter 18
_ “Knock knock!” Kevin said as he stood in Sabrina’s door
frame.
Sabrina looked up and smiled. “Hey you.”
“I was heading out the door and just wanted to see you one last time. You know, just to have your beautiful face mentally stamped into my head.” Kevin smiled as he walked into Sabrina’s office.
Sabrina giggled as she signed off of her computer. “You’re very sweet.”
Kevin looked at flowers on her desk that her husband had brought her. “Not as sweet as your husband…how about those flowers, eh?”
Sabrina sighed as she looked at the flowers on her desk. “I guess.”
“Looks like he has something up his sleeve for you tonight. That lucky bastard.” Kevin teased. Sabrina laughed as she stood up from her desk to gather her things. “I don’t know. Im just waiting for my son to come back home tonight. I miss him so much.”
“I bet. Well, I hope Cody interrupts any intimate sessions your husband tries to pull on you.” Kevin smiled as he walked around Sabrina’s desk to get closer to her.
Sabrina looked at him suspiciously. “That’s not nice, Kevin.”
“Sorry. What can I say…Im just a little jealous.”
Sabrina smiled and shook her head at him. Kevin stepped up to her and wrapped his arms around her. Sabrina quickly attempted to push him away.
“Kevin, stop…we’re at work.”
“Please…just one kiss. I can’t go from kissing you all weekend to not kissing you at all.”
“Kevin, no…my door is open and someone might walk by and see us.”
“Oh…I can fix that.”
Kevin quickly darted for her office door and closed it up. He then eased his way back over to Sabrina placing his hands on her hips.
“Now…” he smiled, “…where were we?”
Sabrina smiled and rolled her eyes as she shook her head. “Okay…one peck.” she warned him.
“Yeah…okay…” Kevin said not believing her.
Sabrina smiled as she raised her arms up around his neck. Kevin leaned into her and tenderly kissed her lips. Sabrina grabbed his face and attempted to pull him away. Sabrina giggled when Kevin wouldn’t let her go.
“One more…one more…” Kevin pleaded with a smile.
“No…” Sabrina laughed.
“Sabrina, I –“
Sabrina and Kevin quickly jolted away from each other at the sound of the knock and someone walking into Sabrina’s office.
“Ariana! Please knock…” Sabrina nervously demanded.
Ariana stared at Sabrina and Kevin giving them a suspicious eye. She wasn’t sure what they were doing, but she saw them quickly move away from each other.
“I did knock.” Ariana said holding Sabrina’s office door open.
Sabrina adjusted her white top. “What can I help you with?”
“I was just going to tell you that I finished that report. I sent it to you via email for your approval.” Ariana stated.
“Okay. I’ll check it in the morning. Thanks.” Sabrina said wanting Ariana to leave.
“Okay.” Ariana said giving Kevin one last glance before leaving out.
When Ariana was gone, Kevin laughed and wiped his forehead as if wiping away perspiration. “Whew…close call.” He laughed.
Sabrina didn’t laugh. She continued to gather her things. Kevin noticed the seriousness on her face.
“What’s wrong?”
“We’re just friends, Kevin. This shouldn’t be going on.”
“What shouldn’t be going on? Friends kiss and hug all the time.”
“Not at work.” Sabrina said now feeling guilty for kissing him and almost getting caught.
“Okay. My fault. Im sorry.” Kevin said in a serious tone as he watched her grab her purse ready to leave. “Can I walk you to your car?”
Sabrina looked at him with apologetic eyes. “I don’t think that’s a good idea, Kevin.”
“Okay.” Kevin said with disappointment. He began walking out of her office and suddenly turned around to look at her. “See you tomorrow?”
Sabrina faintly smiled at him saying, “Yes.”

_
Nick had just finished cooking dinner with the hopes of Sabrina coming home soon. He kept the oven on
low, to keep the food warm until Sabrina came home.
He walked into the bathroom and ran warm bath water for Sabrina to relax in. He wanted to create the same type of atmosphere he was going for the night he had planned to propose to her before she had fallen asleep.
He hoped this would relax her while he told her anything she wanted to know.
Nick was testing the water when he thought he heard Sabrina walk into the house. He quickly shut the water off and hopped up, walking into the kitchen.
There she was standing there holding the flowers he had brought to her earlier and her purse full of her work items in her hand. Nick quickly rushed up to her to help relieve her of her load.
“Hey, baby.” Nick said leaning into her giving her a peck on the lips. “How was work?”
“Fine.” Sabrina said as she looked at the stove. She noticed that he had cooked. “Smells good. What did you cook?”
Nick grinned, “Chicken, broccoli pasta bake, and cresent rolls.”
“Sounds good.” Sabrina said avoiding his eye contact.
Nick grabbed her hand and pulled her toward their bedroom. “I ran some bath water for you, so you can relax.”
“Nick, I don’t have time for that right now, Cody could be calling any minute, ready for me to pick him up.” Sabrina said reluctantly following him into the bedroom.
“Don’t worry about that. I’ll go get him when he calls.”
“No…I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“Why not?”
“Because…”
Nick stopped and looked at her with a raised brow waiting patiently for her to continue. Sabrina thought about Josh, and to be honest she wasn’t ready for Nick to meet Josh…alone.
“Just because.” Sabrina finally responded.
Nick stared blankly at her searching for answers in her eyes. “So…no bath?”
“No. I’ll just take a shower.”
“Okay..” Nick said slowly. “I will go drain out the water. It’s no problem. You want to take a shower now, or eat something first?” Nick asked her calmly.
Sabrina just stared at Nick. She shook her head and walked toward the bed and sat down rubbing her belly.
“Nick…what are you doing?”
“What do you mean?” Nick gave her a confused expression.
“Why are you being so…nice?”
Nick furrowed his brows. “I don’t know what you mean, Brin?” Nick said as he walked toward her and sat next to her on the bed. “I mean…I miss you. We haven’t spoken to each other in a long time. I was trying to give you the space you needed because I didn’t want you to stress.”
Sabrina looked down as she ran her fingers thru her hair.
“I want you to relax and … I think it’s time we had a talk.”
Sabrina sighed and stood up. “Nick…I don’t want to talk, there’s nothing to talk about. Unless... you have the results back for the paternity test...?”
Sabrina started to walk away when Nick blurted out, “You were right. My father slept with my boss to help get me that promotion at my job, but I swear I didn’t know anything about that.”
Sabrina paused and turned around to look at him.
“I asked my dad today about it. He said that she blacked mailed him so he did what he had to do.” Nick continued.
Sabrina folded her arms across her chest sitting right above her growing round belly.
“And what about my job? Did you plan that whole thing at the dinner banquet?” Sabrina asked.
Nick looked up at Sabrina feeling guilty. “Yes. But... only because I knew you wouldn’t move here unless you knew you already had a job here.”
“Nick!” Sabrina said in shock. “You have people hating me because of your dumb little plans.”
“Im sorry.” Nick said standing up to walk towards her.
Sabrina backed away not wanting him to touch her.
“You did it again, Nick. Just like your little plan when you pretty much forced me to testify in court against Zack. You just ran around talking to the attorneys…and you’re trying to run my life again! I can’t believe you, Nick!”
“Baby, Im not trying to run your life…I just wanted you here with me. I wanted to make you happy and live the married life you’ve been dreaming about.”
“Well, it’s supposed to be 50/50 not all one sided! And like an idiot, I believed everything you said to me!”
“Im sorry, Bri-bear.”
Sabrina rolled her eyes. “Don’t 'Bri-bear' me, Nick…Im so sick of your antics.”
Nick didn’t respond, he just stared at her with apologetic eyes.
“Did you fuck anyone at my job?” Sabrina asked angrily.
“No!” Nick responded quickly.
“Don’t lie to me, Nick.”
“Im not.”
“Why does Heather hate me so much then?”
“Baby, I don’t know. Maybe she’s just jealous that you’re smarter than her.”
“And at the banquet was the first time you met her?” Sabrina asked him suspiciously.
“Yes.” Nick responded quickly. He then thought for a moment. “Maybe she knew about my father and her mother and perhaps she thought something would happen with me and her, baby, I don’t know. But, I’ve never even looked at her twice.”
Sabrina sighed and walked over to the chair in front of the vanity mirror. “Nick…how many sexual partners have you had in your life?”
Nick stared at her for a moment in disbelief that she would ask him. “What? Why?”
“I’ve never known, and I want to know.”
Nick chuckled. “Babe, I don’t know…I don’t keep up with that.”
Sabrina widened her eyes in shock. “That many, Nick?!”
“What? No…I mean—“
“I want names. And start from whomever you lost your virginity to.” Sabrina demanded as she interrupted him.
Nick stared at her in disbelief.
“Why? That’s my past…it shouldn’t matter.”
“Exactly, this morning you were like, those females are your past and I was your present and future. Well, I want names of all the females you’ve slept with.”
Nick chuckled. “Are you serious?”
“Yes.” Sabrina said staring intently at him.
“Do you want their social security number and addresses too? I mean, Im not asking you who all you’ve slept with.”
“You know who’ve I slept with! You know who and how I lost my virginity…and you and Josh are the only ones I have ever slept with in my life. Your turn.” Sabrina said sitting back against the vanity desk and folding her arms in front of her chest.
Nick knew she was right. He took a deep breath and walked over to the bed and sat on the edge. “Okay…” Nick stated slowly. “I lost my virginity at 15. The summer before our sophomore year in high school. It was with my mom’s neighbor’s granddaughter. She was 20 years old and her name was Elizabeth.”
“You were 15 and she was 20?! ” Sabrina said in shock.
“You asked, so im telling you.” Nick said in defense.
Sabrina sighed as she rolled her eyes. “Whatever, go on.”
“I slept with a girl named Jasmine my sophomore year in high school. And…do you remember, those two girls who were fighting over me in high school, Audrina and Hillary? Well..I had sex with both of them in my junior and senior year.”
Sabrina put her head down in disbelief.
Nick paused seeing her reaction. “When you say 'who did I have sex with'…do you mean strictly sexual intercourse or other things?”
Sabrina raised her eyes up to look at him in disbelief. “Oh my God…you really are a man whore!” “No im not, im just asking for clarification…”
“I want to know everything.”
“I don’t think we should talk about this.” Nick said looking away from her.
“That many, Nick? You know, Im surprised I haven’t caught any diseases from you!” Sabrina said angrily.
“This was so many years ago, Brin! This was before you, so stop over reacting!” Nick said now getting slightly annoyed.
“Okay, what about college. How many females did you fuck or have your dick sucked on by?”
“I don’t believe this…” Nick mumbled with frustration.
“I can only imagine how many, when you had sooo many to pick from, right?”
Nick sighed ignoring her comment, “Listen, obviously Joanna is one, but Im not playing your little game if you’re going to get upset like this.”
“Im not upset!” Sabrina said angrily.
“What else do you want to know besides who I've slept with? Can I ask you some questions?”
“You know my past Nick!”
“What about the present?” Nick said staring intently at her.
Sabrina looked at him with a puzzled expression. “What are you talking about?”
“Are you cheating on me?”
Sabrina frowned at him. She thought about Kevin. Does he know about them hanging out? If so…that’s not cheating, Sabrina thought to herself.
“No.” she finally responded.
“You hesitated. Why did you hesitate?” Nick asked with a frown feeling a little disturbed by her response.
“I didn’t hesitate, Nick. I mean... look at me! Im pregnant…how the hell am I going to have sex with another man? What would another man want with me, a fat pregnant woman?” Sabrina squinted her eyes at him.
“Where did you go last Sunday when you were gone all day?” Nick asked still looking suspiciously at her.
“I took Cody to Disney World.” Sabrina paused and flipped her hair behind her shoulder. She continued, “Where do you go after our fights?”
“To a bar. I needed to relax before saying something I would regret, so I went to a bar and drank a little..”
Sabrina stared at him wondering if he were telling the truth.
“What else? What else do you want to know?” Nick asked challenging her.
“Did you have sex with Joanna that night of the welcome dinner at our class reunion? Is that why you were really late coming there?”
Nick took a deep breath. He shamefully responded, “Yes. I did. Again, that was before you and I, and before I even knew you were going to be there.”
Sabrina looked away from him feeling hurt and disappointed.
She held her head down and asked, “Have you had sex with her since you and I met up at the class reunion?”
“No.” Nick quickly responded. “Well…”
Sabrina quickly looked up at him in disbelief waiting for him to continue.
“…after I came out of the hospital she attempted to go down on me…I never kissed her, and plus, I made her stop. So if she mentioned anything like that to you, nothing happened. I stopped her…I swear.”
“And what about Ariana? Did you have sex with her?”
“No…I never had sex with her.” Nick paused and sighed realizing he should probably tell the whole truth, because he wasn’t sure what Ariana may have told her. “Well …we fooled around in the past, but I never had sexual intercourse with her.”
Sabrina looked up at him with a scowl on her face. “And what’s that supposed to mean?”
“I mean…we kissed, fondled each other…you know…stuff like that.” Nick said feeling uncomfortable telling Sabrina the details.
“So you both had oral sex with each other?”
“No... I just …you know…kissed her and stuff….babe, nothing really happened.” Nick said with pleading eyes wanting her to change the subject.
“When did this happen?”
“Not long after I tore my ACL. It was my senior year in college. I was like 22 years old…this happened so long ago.”
Sabrina sighed with disgust and on the verge of tears.
“Have you had sex or did “stuff” with anyone since you and I got together?”
“No.” Nick quickly responded. He then added, “… Since we met back together at the reunion, you are the only one I have been with…I swear.”
Nick stood up when he saw Sabrina start to get a little emotional. He walked over to her and knelt down in front of her. “I love you, Brin. I only want what’s best for us. Yes, I had a rocky past with a lot of females but when I saw you again, I knew I would spend the rest of my life with you. You have always been the one for me. Those other females mean absolutely nothing.” Nick grabbed her hand and brought them to his lips and kissed it. He looked up at her and pushed her hair behind her ear. “I love you.” Nick said once again hoping to hear her say it back.
“Did you get the DNA results back?” Sabrina asked as her voice trembled.
Nick had hoped she wouldn’t bring that up. Nick slowly stood on his feet and sat back down on the bed, holding his head down. He couldn’t lie…he had to tell her the truth. He would rather for her to hear it from him before Joanna or his mother said anything to her first. However, the words just couldn’t come out of his mouth. He sat there wondering how to break it down to her.
Sabrina looked at him confused. She then realized that he must know the results. And they weren’t the results she might want to hear.
Sabrina’s breathing immediately began to change as if she were going to hyperventilate. “Nick…?”
“Im sorry…Im so sorry.” Nick said slowly avoiding her eye contact.
“He’s yours?”
Nick kept his eyes down. “Yes. And…she named him Nicholas Junior.” Nick blurted out in a low tone without looking at Sabrina.
At that moment Sabrina’s cell phone rang.
Sabrina didn’t immediately move. She glared at Nick as a tear slowly trickled down her cheek.
Her phone rang again.
She then stood up and started to walk out of the room to get her phone when Nick hopped up to block her from leaving.
"Brin...wait..." Nick said softly.
Before she knew it, she immediately slapped Nick across his cheek leaving a red imprint. The sound was like someone hitting a pool of water with the palm of their hand. Nick turned his head the direction she slapped him feeling the hard sting across his face.
“You lied to me!” Sabrina shouted at him in anger.
Nick gently touched his face still feeling the sting of pain throb across his cheek. He knew he deserved that. He then finally looked at her saying, “Baby, Im sorry…” he attempted to reach out to her.
She swiped his hands away from her and quickly shoved his chest away from her.
“You lied, Nick! You knew that baby was yours this whole time!”
“I just found out today,” Nick said defensively.
“But you promised me, Nick!”
“I didn’t know…Brin, Im sorry.” Nick said wanting to hug her when he noticed how the tears rolled down her face.
Sabrina pushed him away from her and rushed toward her cell phone in the kitchen.
“Hello?” Sabrina answered.
“Hello?”
“Cody? Hey sweetie! Where are you?” Sabrina said trying to sound like nothing was wrong.
“We are like 15 minutes away from the store you dropped me off at.” Cody responded.
“Okay…I’ll be there shortly.” Sabrina said into the phone and quickly ended the call.
Sabrina looked up and noticed that Nick had followed her into the kitchen.
“I’ll drive. You shouldn’t drive when you’re upset.” Nick said reaching for his keys after hearing her phone call.
“I don’t need you to do anything for me.” Sabrina said coldly as she grabbed her purse and keys.
Sabrina walked outside and hopped into her car. When she started her car, the gas light came on indicating she didn’t have any gas left. She remembered that she was supposed to go to the gas station prior to going home but forgot. Her intentions were to tell Nick to get some gas for her, but their conversation of confessions made her forget about the gas. And now she was sitting in the car with her car light on, showing empty.
She mumbled a curse. She knew her car wouldn’t make it to the location to pick up Cody and she wasn’t sure her car would make it to the local gas station in the neighborhood. She didn’t want to take any chances of being out of gas, pregnant, and alone in the dark. Sabrina turned the car off and walked back into the house.
She walked into the bedroom where Nick was coming out of the bathroom from letting the tub water drain out. He stopped when he looked at Sabrina with a puzzled expression wondering why she was standing there and not on her way to pick up Cody.
“I don’t have any gas in my car. I need your car keys.”
“Why don’t you just let me take you?” Nick calmly insisted.
“Why don’t you just go put gas in my car, while I take your car to get my son.” Sabrina responded with an attitude.
Nick sighed and pulled his keys out of his jean pockets and tossed her his car keys.
He walked into the bathroom and ran warm bath water for Sabrina to relax in. He wanted to create the same type of atmosphere he was going for the night he had planned to propose to her before she had fallen asleep.
He hoped this would relax her while he told her anything she wanted to know.

Nick's Car
_
Sabrina hopped inside Nick’s car and took off down the
street to get Cody.
The radio wasn’t playing the kind of music Sabrina wanted to hear at the moment. She felt any type of slow song, or love song would make her emotional, and since Cody would be with her at any moment, she didn’t have time to feel emotional.
Sabrina looked in the center console between the driver and the passenger seat for a cd to play. When she lifted the lid to the center console, she saw a small pill bottle. There were a few pills left inside.
As Sabrina drove, she tried to closely examine the pill inside. She turned on the car light inside to get a better look. Sure enough, it was the same pill she remembered finding in the medicine cabinet.
Sabrina thought for a moment.
When she threw the other pills away, she never noticed Nick complain about any pain or act as if he were missing them. She figured if he was addicted, she would have been able to tell by now. But why were these pills in his car? Was he still taking them? Or had he stopped and these were old? The bottle didn’t have a label around it. It was a simple brown pill bottle. When Sabrina stopped at a stop light, she rolled the window down and tossed the whole thing out of the window into the woods on the side of the road.
Sabrina felt that with so much going on, maybe she hadn’t been paying close attention like she had wanted. This time she was going to pay attention. She vowed that when she got back home she was going to check the medicine cabinet to make sure there were no pills present.

_ About 45 min later, Sabrina and Cody walked back into the
house. Nick was sitting in the living room watching television, however, he
wasn’t paying attention to what was showing on the television. Nick was in deep
thoughts thinking about Sabrina.
Cody was about to go upstairs when he saw Nick in the living room. “Hey Nick!"
“Hey buddy, did you have fun?” Nick said forcing a smile on his face. He held out his hand wanting Cody to give him a high-five.
“Yeah…it was cool.” Cody said giving Nick a high-five.
“Awesome. Hungry?”
“No…I ate with my dad already. Mom says I need to go straight to bed. Don’t you think I should stay up for a while?”
Nick chuckled, “No, I think you better do what your mother says.”
“Aw man. At least I tried.” Cody said sadly as he turned to walk up stairs.
“Alright buddy, good night.”
Nick remained seated in the living room looking at the television going back into his mind with deep thoughts.
Meanwhile, Sabrina turned the shower water on preparing to take a shower. She quickly looked into the medicine cabinet and searched each shelf as she did before. The medicine cabinet was free of those pills. Sabrina was relieved. She wanted to ask him about it, but she would rather observe him first before accusing him. Sabrina looked at her reflection in the mirror. But does she really have time to observe him? She vowed to herself that she would leave Nick if she ever found out that he impregnated Joanna for the second time. Sabrina began to pout as she felt herself about to cry. “I can’t do this.” Sabrina said out loud to herself. She thought about if she left…where would she go? Stay in a hotel until she can fully move back to Atlanta? She hated to do this to Cody when he’s still in school. It wasn’t good for him to be so unstable like this. Sabrina wiped her tears away and proceeded to take her clothes off to get into the shower.

Sabrina's Belly 19-20 wks
_ Once she was done showering, Sabrina walked out of the bathroom
wearing a sage green tank top and just her underwear. She stopped to look at herself
in the mirror and thought her belly was getting larger and larger.
As she stared at herself, she came to the realization that she was going to start looking for an apartment there in Gainesville until Cody was done for the school year. She would just have to work something out with her job and be able to take Cody to school herself every morning. The faster she found an apartment, the quicker she would move out of Nick’s house.
She didn’t want to tell Nick she was going to move. She just wanted him to be at work and for him to come home and see that she was gone. She didn’t want Nick to try and persuade her into staying considering he was so manipulative. She had been pregnant and alone before…she can do it again, Sabrina thought.
She sighed and crawled into bed feeling tired. She then thought about her father. When she was pregnant and alone with Cody, at least her father was there. “I miss you dad.” Sabrina whispered to herself as she laid in bed under the sheets.
Meanwhile, due to Nick’s working schedule, he found it hard to sleep on the days he was off. He wasn’t tired, nor sleepy. He wondered what Sabrina was doing and wondered if she had calmed down from earlier. Minutes later, Nick walked into the bedroom. He saw Sabrina lying on her back rubbing her belly.
“Are you okay?” Nick asked with concern.
“Yeah.” Sabrina responded softly and turned on her side away from Nick.
Nick slowly crawled on the bed beside her still fully clothed. Nick snuggled close behind her as she kept her back to him.
“I love you so much. Baby, I am so sorry that I keep causing you pain.” Nick spoke quietly in her ear as he rested his hand over her belly.
“Nick, are you ever in pain?” She asked in reference to the pain pills she keeps finding.
Nick furrowed his brows. “No. Why?”
Sabrina shrugged her shoulders not wanting to tell him the real reason she just asked.
Nick moves forward and kisses her cheek, lingering his lips there for a few seconds. Nick finally removed his lips from her cheek and lightly brushed his lips and his nose against her earlobe and down to the back of her neck thru her hair. He stopped at her neck, moving her hair to the side, and leaving soft subtle kisses as he began to move his hand underneath the sheets to feel her skin. He glided his hands slowly down alongside her hips. His fingers lightly traced the lace trimming of her panties as his lips moved toward her shoulder.
“Nick…Im tired. Please stop.” Sabrina said softly with her eyes closed.
Nick didn’t respond vocally. He simply closed his eyes with disappointment and feeling rejected once again. He wasn’t trying to have sex with her. He just missed her and wanted to be affectionate with her. But apparently, she felt differently.
He quietly sighed. Nick planted a firm kiss on her shoulder and removed his hand from underneath the sheets. He then slowly rolled out of bed and left the room to go back into the living room, watching television.

Chapter 19 (Tuesday)
Nick & Cody
_ Sabrina had already left for work, and Nick was now taking
Cody to school.
Cody noticed how quiet Nick was on their ride to his school. Normally Nick would ask him questions or just make small comments to what was on the radio. However, that morning, Cody thought Nick had a lot on his mind. Cody thought about his mother, Sabrina, and how weird she acted when she picked him up from his dad on the previous night. Cody looked over at Nick.
“What’s wrong?” Cody simply asked.
Nick seem to snap out of his thoughts and looked over at Cody. Nick forced a smile on his face.
“What do you mean?”
“I dunno. You seem different. You and my mom.”
Nick reached over and ruffled his fingers thru Cody’s short hair. “Nah…everything is good. No worries.”
Cody turned to look out the window.
“We need a vacation…don’t you think?” Nick said trying to change the subject.
Cody nodded his head in agreement.
“Where do you think we should go?”
“Alaska!”
Nick laughed. “Whoa…that’s a rather unique suggestion.”
Cody laughed. “Okay…what about Hawaii? My dad said he been there before for his job one time. He showed me some pictures and they looked really cool. I think mom would love it. Plus…I always wanted to learn how to surf. I hear it’s the same as skateboarding.”
Nick thought for a moment. Hawaii sounded great especially for Sabrina. It sounded like the perfect relaxation for her. It would be the perfect place to put their relationship and marriage back on the right track before bringing their baby into the world.
Nick looked over at Cody and grinned. “You, my friend…are a genius.” Nick said ruffling his fingers back thru Cody’s hair.
Cody smiled.
“When should we go?”
“This weekend!”
Nick laughed. “Wow, that’s very short notice. What about your school and stuff. You only want to stay for a weekend?”
“I can miss a few days of school. I don’t see a problem with that.” Cody smiled.
Nick smiled back at him.
“I’ll tell you what…let’s think about it some more and see what your mom says about you missing school.” Nick said pulling up to the carpool drop off line at Cody’s school.
“Okay.” Cody said a little disappointed.
“Have a great day, buddy. Don’t forget, I’m picking you up today.”
“Got it.”
“Love you buddy.”
“Love ya. Bye!” Cody said just before shutting the car door and running off into his school.

_ “Hey beautiful.” Kevin said peeking his head into Sabrina’s
office with a smile.
Sabrina looked up from her computer and faintly smiled at him.
“Busy? Can I come in?”
“Sure.” Sabrina said softly.
“Ready to take our morning break?” Kevin said as he placed his hands into his pants pockets while strolling up to her desk.
“Actually…I am already on break.”
Kevin leaned forward on her desk to take a look at her computer screen. He noticed she was looking at apartments for rent. He looked back at Sabrina.
“Going somewhere?”
Sabrina took a deep breath. “Looks like it…right?”
“Yeah.” Kevin said with concern as he sat down in the chair across from her.
He propped his forearms on her desk and leaned forward. Sabrina stared at Kevin for a moment, wondering if she should tell him her plan. She would probably need his help to move, so she figure she might as well.
“I am…leaving my husband…Nick.” Sabrina hesitated realizing it was the first time she said those words out loud.
Kevin looked slightly stunned. “Really?”
It took all Sabrina had to not get emotional. She lightly chuckled to keep from crying.
“Yeah…crazy right?”
“You’re divorcing him?”
Sabrina groaned at the thought. “I …uh…well…I just want to get away first and do the whole divorce thing later…I guess.” Sabrina said as if she were thinking out loud to herself.
She hadn’t really thought about divorce, but if she was going to eventually move back to Atlanta, that’s what she was going to have to do.
“Get away? Are you sure he’s never hit you?”
“No…never. I just…there are just some things that have happened where I can’t see myself with a liar.”
Kevin sat back in his chair and gazed at Sabrina. “He’s still lying to ya, eh?”
Sabrina batted her eyes quickly to prevent a tear from falling.
“Why don’t you stay with me?” Kevin said with a smirk.
“What? No.” Sabrina said shaking her head thinking he was talking nonsense.
“Sabrina…stay with me. I’ll take care of you.” Kevin said sitting forward staring intently into her eyes.
“Kevin, no. I have my son—“
“I’ll make room.”
“I’m having a baby.”
Kevin paused at the thought. “Well…let’s find an apartment together. What kind of apartments do you like? You want a three bedroom apartm—“
“Kevin.” Sabrina interrupted wanting him to stop.
“What?” Kevin asked curiously.
“No.”
“We can make this work. You, me, and Cody. Listen...I didn’t want to say this so soon, but Sabrina, Im in love with you.”
Sabrina was shocked to hear him say those words. Before Sabrina could say anything, there was a knock at her door. Sabrina averted her eyes to her office door and saw Zoe.
“I have the last of those designs right here for you.” Zoe said walking into her office.
Sabrina tried to forget what she heard Kevin just say as she reached for the deigns in Zoe’s hand.
“Thank you so much Zoe.” Sabrina responded.
Kevin kept his eyes on Sabrina.
Zoe noticed that she may have interrupted something. “Hi Kevin.”
Kevin didn’t immediately respond. He slowly took his eyes off of Sabrina and looked up at Zoe forcing a smile on his face. “G’morning, Zoe.”
Zoe exchanged glances with Sabrina trying to figure out what was going on before she had interrupted them. “Well…I think my part is done. I have other meetings to attend today. You all have a great day.” She said suspiciously as she looked at both Sabrina and Kevin.
Sabrina stood up and walked behind Zoe as she walked out of her office. “Thanks again Zoe.” Sabrina said. She then closed her office door.
As soon as she turned around, Kevin was standing right there and immediately began kissing her. Sabrina immediately pushed him back and away from her.
“Kevin, stop!”
Kevin didn’t respond he only lustfully looked at her.
“Are you crazy?” Sabrina started to walk away from him.
“Im crazy about you, Sabrina. I know you feel the same way.”
“No…Kevin…we’re just friends.”
“But...I won you over…isn’t that why you’re leaving your husband? To be with me?”
Sabrina looked at him as if he were crazy. “Kevin…no.”
Kevin chuckled. “You keep saying no…what do you mean, no?”
Sabrina raised her hands up to her lips as she pressed the palms of her hands together. “Kevin…we’re just friends, remember? I never meant for you to fall in love with me. We don’t even know each other.”
“We spend almost every day together, of course we know each other. So…so are you telling me you don’t feel the same way?”
Sabrina slowly shook her head no. “I like you as a friend, Kevin. Nothing else….Im sorry.”
Sabrina opened her office door wanting him to leave. She wasn’t sure how he was going to react, so if he were to lose control, her office door would be open and someone would help her.
“Wow.” Kevin said with a frown. “After everything I have done for you.”
Sabrina stood at the door frame of her office door without responding. Kevin walked up to her closely. Sabrina turned her head so they weren’t looking eye to eye.
“You are such a fucking tease.” He whispered and walked away.
Sabrina swallowed hard and watched him walk away. Sabrina walked into her office and closed her door shut.
Sabrina looked up from her computer and faintly smiled at him.

_ Ariana saw the whole exchange of what just happened when Sabrina had opened her office door. She
quickly hopped up and followed Kevin. She saw Kevin walk into the coffee room.
She quickly walked up to him as she flipped her long red hair out of her face.
“What happened?” she rushed in a whisper to Kevin. “You’re a lying bitch. That’s what happened.” Kevin said harshly as he made himself a cup of coffee.
“What?”
“She only sees me as a friend, genius.” Kevin stated coldly without looking at her.
Ariana stared at him with a confused expression.
Kevin turned and glared at her. “She just told me she doesn’t love me in the way that I have fallen in love with her. ”
Ariana smiled. “Oh c’mon, Kevin. You can’t go claiming your love for her when she’s still married! She has to say she doesn’t love you because she is still married. Im telling you…the girl absolutely adores you! You can’t give up on her. You have to keep charming her like you’ve been doing.”
Kevin glared at her. “Why did I even start believing you in the first place?” Kevin said feeling dumb.
“Because you know Im right.” Ariana paused and stared at Kevin for a moment. “Aww…you’re really in love with her, aren’t you? See… I saw how you looked at her since the day you both started working here. Why do you think I approached you on the second week you've been working here? I saw how you were crushing on her and I saw the googly eyes she was giving you.
Didn’t I tell you how much she adored you? Was I not right? If I were wrong, she wouldn’t have kissed you, right? Over…and over..and over again….right? Go get her, you studmuffin. Stick to the plan. While I work on her husband to get him away from her, you work on Sabrina with your winning charm. Nick's baby momma is such a lunatic, I know she will do anything to get Nick away from her. As long as I play along...Nick will be mine...and you will be with Sabrina like you've always wanted since day one. Don’t let the girl of your dreams walk away from you so easily. She loves you. Trust me…she really does.” Ariana smiled connivingly and patted his back.
Kevin watched her leave the coffee room as she looked at him seductively.

Nick had spent the majority of his day with baby Nicky. The
doctor said he was making some improvement that day. His breathing was improving,
yet they still had to feed him thru tubes.
Nick had dozed off while keeping Nicky company as he sat in a rocking chair. Joanna had just come back to the hospital after going home to shower. Joanna walked up behind Nick and leaned forward over him. She slowly ran her hands down his chest and kissed his cheek.
“Wake up, baby.” Joanna whispered.
Nick gradually woke up and gently touched Joanna’s hands over his chest. Nick was dreaming about Sabrina. He suddenly could smell the shampoo she used in her hair as he felt her hands gently rubbed down his chest. He lightly smiled thinking it was Sabrina waking him up. However, when Nick opened his eyes to see Joanna, he slightly jumped and quickly sat forward.
Joanna laughed. "Sorry…I didn’t mean to scare you." Joanna said walking up to the incubator to see Nicky.
Nick frowned and rubbed his face to knock off his drowsiness. “I thought you were someone else.” Nick said quietly as he stood up.
“Right.” Joanna said nonchalantly. “Have you ate yet?”
“No.”
“Want to go grab something to eat really quick?” Joanna asked looking up at him.
She could tell Nick was about to say no.
She added, “We need to talk.”
“Where’s Joss?”
“With my mom. You want to eat or not?”
Nick looked down at his watch. It would soon be time for him to pick up Cody.
“I don’t have time. I have to get Cody from school.”
“Oh.” Joanna said with disappointment. “I really have to talk to you. It’s important.”
“Is Joss okay?”
“Yeah…she’s fine.”
“Then it’s not important.” Nick said flatly. “I gotta go. Call me if any changes with Nicky.”
Joanna folded her arms angrily as she watched Nick leave.

_ It was the end of the day for Sabrina. She gathered her
things together and was ready to head out. As she walked out of her office, she
bumped into Kevin. She hadn’t seen or talk to him since that morning. She
faintly smiled at him.
“Im sorry, I didn’t mean to bump into you. I guess Im just ready to get out of here.”
Kevin didn’t smile, he only stared at her. “Can I talk to you for a moment.”
“Yeah…sure.” Sabrina said with uncertainty.
Kevin lead her into a stairwell so they could have some privacy. Sabrina felt slightly nervous standing in an empty stairwell with Kevin. She wasn’t sure why…but she did.
Kevin turned to her saying, “I just want to apologize for this morning.”
“Yeah…me too.”
“I hope I didn’t scare you.” Kevin smiled flashing his dimples.
Sabrina smiled with relief. “No, not at all. Well…I mean, maybe a little. But it’s okay.”
Kevin chuckled. “I felt really silly for confessing my love for you. It sucks, but I’ll eventually get over it, ya know?”
Sabrina nodded with a smile.
Kevin continued to gaze at her. Sabrina felt obligated to say something.
“Yeah…uh…Im flattered. But yes…I’m sorry if I lead you to believe things could go further than what we have done. I am just going thru a lot. Im emotional, and Im about to go thru this separation with my husband. I just want to focus on my son and the new baby coming. So…”
“I totally understand. Speaking of your separation…I will help you in any way possible. Just let me know.”
Sabrina smiled. “Thank you.”
“You’re so welcome. Then maybe…just maybe I can change your mind and your heart about me. Because I truly believe I can get you to fall in love with me. Just wait.”
Sabrina lightly chuckled. “I don’t know…I guess only time will tell.”
“Indeed.” Kevin said seriously as he burned into her eyes.
Sabrina started to feel uncomfortable once again as she looked away.
“Okay…let’s go home. I mean…you go to your home and I go to my home.” Kevin said with a smile as he opened the door for her.
Sabrina giggled as she walked thru the door.
“Maybe one day I can say, let’s go home…to our home…but you know, hey…” Kevin teased her.
Sabrina laughed and shook her head at him.
Kevin joined in her laughter.

“What’s for dinner, Code-meister?” Nick asked as he looked
thru the refrigerator.
“Please, no left overs.” Cody said as he sat at the kitchen table doing his homework.
“I agree. How about pizza?”
“Wooohoo! Yesss! Cheese pizza…please!”
Nick smiled. “How about a cheese pizza and a supreme pizza?”
“That’ll work!”
Nick picked up the phone and dialed the pizza restaurant and ordered their food. Just as Nick was placing his order, the door bell rung. Nick walked toward the living room and looked out the window. He saw Joanna’s car. He frowned as he held the phone up to his ear.
“Yeah, that’s it.” Nick said into the phone speaking to the person on the other end of the phone. Once they gave him the charge for the pizza, Nick said, “Thanks.”
He quickly ended the call and opened the door to see Joanna standing on the other side of the door. “What the hell are you doing here?”
“Chill out, okay? You gave me the address a while back, remember?”
Nick only stared at her.
Cody walked up to the door beside Nick to see who was at the door. Joanna looked at Cody and smiled.
“Cody, right? Hi! Do you remember me?”
“Yeah. But your stomach is gone…you had your baby?”
Joanna smiled and laughed sweetly. “I did.”
“Cody go back and finish your homework.” Nick said firmly with a slight frown looking at Joanna. Cody turned around and went back to the kitchen to finish his homework.
Joanna waited to speak until she saw Cody disappear into the house. She looked at Nick with a smile.
“Are you going to let me in, or not?”
“What do you want?”
“I wanted to talk to you remember? It’s important, and I think I should tell you.” Joanna raised up a small package she was holding in her hand. “I should have told you yesterday…and Im sorry I lied to you. But I think it’s best you hear the truth from me.” Joanna said with a serious expression.
Nick frowned as he stared at her. Nick thought for a moment. He then looked into the house and yelled out to Cody. “Cody, I’ll be right outside, okay?”
“Okay!” Cody yelled from the kitchen.
Nick stepped out the front door. Joanna stepped down the two steps that lead up to the front door as Nick walked out. “Nick…Sabrina is cheating on you with a guy named Kevin.”
Nick narrowed his eyes at her as he watched her pull out some photos from a folder.
Joanna continued, “They went to Disney World together with Cody. She’s been going out to eat with him, and kissing him in the parking lots.” She showed Nick pictures of them walking together while at Disney World. There were pictures of the two kissing in parking lots near Sabrina's car. Joanna continued, “There was a dinner thing at her job and I was told that they were all over each other.” Joanna showed him a picture of the two hugging for the camera.
Nick was getting angrier by the second. “How…how did you get all of these pictures? How did you know?”
“Ariana told me. She found my number from a long time ago. I didn’t want to believe her Nick. She said she had to tell somebody, and I guess because she knew I still talked to you, she felt she could confide in me. She said she was suspicious when they always took every break, and every lunch together every day. She said she caught them kissing in Sabrina's office. People always saw them together outside of the job.”
Nick sat down on the step in front of his door as his rage was over powering while staring at Sabrina kissing this other man Kevin.
“Please, no left overs.” Cody said as he sat at the kitchen table doing his homework.

Nick sat down on the step in front of his door as his rage was over powering while staring at Sabrina kissing this other man Kevin.
_Joanna cleared her throat. “Nick…there’s more. She had Kevin in your
house. Every night while you were at work... just last week and over the weekend.
He wouldn’t leave until about midnight. Who knows what they were doing inside
your house…alone. I don’t know what Cody was doing while she had him over here,
but…”
“Cody was with his father.” Nick said thru his teeth while staring at the pictures of Kevin’s car in the driveway.
There were pictures of Kevin standing at the door with a smile on Sabrina’s face when apparently he arrived. There were pictures of the two hugging and then kissing when he appeared to be leaving the house.
Nick thought about Sabrina’s action over the last few weeks. How distant she was even when Nick thought he was doing everything she wanted him to. Is this what she did to relieve her stress?
Joanna sat down beside Nick and wrapped her arm around Nick’s shoulder. “Baby, Im sorry…” Nick quickly hopped up with a furious expression on his face. “You better leave.”
Joanna looked up at him and saw the rage in his eyes. Joanna quietly stood up. She raised her hand to gently touch the side of his face noticing him clenching his jaw muscles.
“Im so sorry to have to tell you this, baby.” Joanna said in a comforting tone.
Nick moved away from her touch. “Just leave, Jo.”
Joanna stepped back still noticing the rage in his eyes. “At least now you know, that the one you love so much, has cheated on you. But the one you can’t seem to love back…has never cheated on you.” Joanna said speaking of herself.
She lightly touched his arm and walked away. Nick watched her drive away.
Before walking inside, Nick knew he needed to calm down before going back inside with Cody. Nick took a deep breath and walked back inside the house. Nick quietly walked back into the house and sat down at the table with Cody. Cody was still working on his homework.
Nick propped his elbows on the table and covered his face with his hands as his knee vibrated up down with rage.
“Cody…” Nick said firmly.
“Yeah?” Cody said looking up at Nick.
“Do you know who Kevin is?”
“Yeah…” Cody said slowly.
“Did he go to Disney World with you and your mom that day?”
“Yeah. He’s cool, though. He and mom work together.”
It took everything Nick had to force a smile on his face. He took a deep long breath.
“What’s wrong?” Cody asked.
“Nothing. How’s that homework coming along?” Nick asked as he stood up from the table.
“Okay, I guess. I can’t figure this one problem out.”
At that moment, the doorbell rung. “Oh, I hope that’s the pizza guy. Im hungry.” Cody blurted out.
Nick dug in his pockets for the money to pay for the pizza. He realized he left some cash in his car. “I’ll be back.” Nick said walking to the front door.
Sure enough it was the pizza guy. “Walk with me, I got cash in my car.” Nick told the pizza guy.
The pizza guy did just so.
As Nick looked inside his car for the cash, he thought about his pills. He needed it now more than anything to calm his anger. He looked inside the center console. It wasn’t there. Nick moved his cd’s around looking for the pill bottle. It wasn’t there. Nick quietly said a curse. He heard the pizza guy clear his throat as if wanting Nick to hurry up. Nick finally gave the pizza guy the money for the pizza.
“Keep the change.”
“Thanks.” The pizza guys responded.
“Cody was with his father.” Nick said thru his teeth while staring at the pictures of Kevin’s car in the driveway.

_Nick looked back inside his car for his pills. He knew it should
have been there. He saw it there yesterday when he left to Sabrina’s job. Nick
stopped and thought for a moment.
Sabrina.
She drove his car last night to pick up Cody. He thought about his other pills that had just disappeared before. It was becoming clear to him that she had to have been the one taking his pills away.
Nick became even more furious. He walked into the house with pizza in his hands.
“Woohoo! Can I eat now and do my homework later?” Cody asked with a smile.
“Yeah.” Nick said flatly as he tried his best to consume his anger at Sabrina.
First he finds out that she’s cheating on him and now she’s the one taking his pills away? Nick began pacing the floor in the living room.
“Hey, Nick! You want a slice of the supreme or the cheese?” Cody asked from the kitchen.
“I’ll get it later, okay, buddy?”
Cody shrugged his shoulders and sat at the table to finish eating.
Nick took the pictures Joanna had given him and stuffed it into his drawer in the bedroom. He walked back into the kitchen, grabbed a corona and quickly walked back out of the kitchen. He quickly gulped down one bottle in a matter of seconds as he paced the living room floor.

_ A few minutes later, Nick heard the back door open. He then heard Cody
say, “Hey mom! Guess what? We got pizza for dinner!”
“Oh really?” Sabrina said with a smile.
“How was work?” Cody asked as he sat back down at the table from giving his mom a hug.
“Long.” Sabrina said with a smile as she took her jacket off.
“We got cheese pizza and supreme pizza. Pick your choice!” Cody said taking a bite out of his cheese pizza.
“Cool. It looks good.” Sabrina said as she kissed the crown of his head.
When she looked up, she saw Nick standing at the kitchen doorway just staring at her with a frown. Sabrina’s smile slowly faded. She didn’t bother to speak to him. Instead she picked up a slice of supreme pizza and took a bite.
With her mouth full, she asked Cody, “How was school?”
“Fine.”
“Just fine?” Sabrina said as she moved around the table to grab a paper plate from one of the cabinets.
Nick walked into the kitchen and walked around her toward the refrigerator almost bumping into her. Sabrina looked at him wondering why he had the scowl expression on his face and why he was so quiet. She watched him throw an empty bottle of corona into the trash and grab another corona out from the refrigerator. Sabrina tried not to let him know she was watching him as she kept her eyes down. Sabrina took another bite out of her pizza and placed it on the paper plate.
“Yep…just fine.” Cody responded.
“How much homework do you have?” Sabrina asked as she sat down at the table.
“Not too much. I have math, and more vocabulary words…blah.” Cody complained as he continued doing his homework.
“Sounds like fun.”
Nick leaned against the kitchen island counter as he stared at Sabrina and taking a swig of his corona. Sabrina felt his eyes on her. She looked over at him and sure enough he was glaring at her. Sabrina rolled her eyes and stood up from the table and grabbed her purse and work items.
“Im going to go put my things away and I will come back to check on your homework, okay?” “Okay.” Cody responded.
Sabrina gave Nick one last glare and took her things into the bedroom.
Nick followed her as he left his corona on the counter.
“I need to talk to you.” Nick said in an upset tone.
“About what, Nick? You have more confessions or sex stories you would like to tell me?” Sabrina said calmly without looking at him.
“Nah, I think its your turn to start talking.” Nick said angrily.
Sabrina took her shoes off and looked at Nick suspiciously. “What are you talking about?”
Before Nick had a chance to respond, Cody yelled for Sabrina in the kitchen.
“Hey mom! Did you remember to bring me your calculator from your job?”
Sabrina walked toward the bedroom door to speak with Cody, however Nick roughly grabbed her arm to stop her.
“Don’t walk away from me, dammit. We are going to talk.” Nick frowned at Sabrina.
Sabrina frowned at him. “Ouch, Nick…let go.”
“We need to talk, and im not having you walk away from me.”
“I have to go check on Cody, so stop!” Sabrina said angrily pushing him away from her.
Nick let her arm go and Sabrina immediately walked away. Sabrina took a deep breath and approached Cody.
“No sweetie, Im sorry I forgot again.”
“Oh.” Cody simply stated when he saw the anger on Nick’s face when he walked back into the kitchen.
“Cody, go to your room so your mom and I can talk.” Nick said with anger yet calm.
Cody immediately looked at Sabrina. Sabrina saw the anger in Nick’s eyes. She didn’t like it…it almost scared her. She looked at Cody.
“It’s okay. Go on up to your room. I’ll check on your homework later tonight okay?” Sabrina smiled at Cody.
Cody slowly gathered his school work together. “Can I take some more pizza with me?”
“Yeah, sure.” Sabrina helped Cody get his things together and put more pizza on his plate.
She glanced up and saw Nick still glaring at her.
“Here you go.” Sabrina said softly to Cody. “Don’t make a mess up there, okay?”
“I won’t.” Cody said as he looked back at his mom and at Nick one last time.
Sabrina watched Cody go upstairs for a second and then turned toward the kitchen table to close the boxes to the pizza. She picked up the pizza boxes and brought them over toward the stove. Before she knew it, Nick had walked up closely behind her and placed his hands on the counter barricading her. Nick didn’t even give her enough room where she could turn around to face him.
Nick spoke quietly into her ear. “What. The. Fuck. Did you do with my pills?”
Sabrina’s eyes widen for a second. He noticed they were gone. “I threw them out.” Sabrina responded calmly.
She heard Nick chuckle lightly as if he didn’t believe her. “You what?”
Sabrina moved his arm so she could move away from him. “So it’s true…Ariana’s your pill pusher? You’re addicted to those things?” Sabrina slowly started to walk toward their bedroom.
“I am not addicted. You have no fucking right to take shit that is mine.” Nick said raising his voice a little.
Sabrina noticed his jaw muscles clinch. “Why are you taking them, Nick? Once again it’s just something else you lied or kept from me. What do you have to do to get them from Ariana, huh? Fuck her?” Sabrina said angrily as she turned to walk into their bedroom.
Nick quickly followed her and closed their bedroom door shut by slamming it. Sabrina jumped and turned to face him.
“Is that why you’re so upset? Because I threw your stupid pills away, Nick?”
“Don’t touch my shit, Sabrina! I need them!” Nick yelled.
“For what?!” Sabrina shouted at him. “Why didn’t you tell me about it. Instead you just hide them from me?”
“Really? Im the one who’s hiding something, right?” Nick said as he started walking toward her forcing her to back into the wall.
“Nick, I have no idea who you are anymore! Look at you…you’re addicted to pain pills! How long have you been taking them?”
“Here’s a better question…how long have you been fucking that guy Kevin? Huh?!” Nick demanded to know from her.
Sabrina looked up at him in shock. “What?”
Nick quickly moved away from her and grabbed the photos Joanna had brought to him. Sabrina wasn’t sure what he was doing. She moved away from the wall and walked up to corner of the bed.
Nick walked up to her and threw the photos at her. Sabrina flinched and watched the photos drop down on the bed. Sabrina looked down at the photos and saw several pictures of her and Kevin together, and kissing. Sabrina’s mouth dropped open at the sight. She was shocked. She couldn’t believe her eyes. Who had been watching her?
“What the fuck is that, Brin? Huh? And you talk about me? Oh, I get it…maybe that’s why you keep accusing me of fucking someone else because you’re the one who’s doing all the fucking!” Nick loudly shouted at her in anger.
Sabrina looked up at Nick as her eyes began to well up with tears. “Nick…I can explain…” Sabrina said softly.
“Explain, what? Yeah…okay…please, explain to me how the fuck you have another man in my house!” Nick shouted at her as he picked up the pictures and threw it at her again.
“Nick, he’s just a friend…it’s not like that!” Sabrina pleaded to him.
“A friend, Sabrina? You’re kissing him! You go out to lunch with his man and take breaks with this man…you fucking went to Disney World with this man, bringing Cody around him!”
Sabrina’s chest heaved up and down as she tried to control her breathing. She could feel her heart racing as she noticed the rage in Nick’s eyes.
“Nick…stop it, okay? Just calm down.”
“Calm down? You brought this mother fucker into my house, Sabrina? Did you fuck him? Did you fuck him in our bed?! Did you!?!” Nick said loudly making Sabrina jump in fear.
“No! I swear I didn’t!” Sabrina said as tears streamed down her face.
“Then what are you doing with him? You let him touch you?! You let him kiss you! What else, huh?” Nick said firmly grabbing her shoulders and pushing her against the wall.
Sabrina tried to move away from his grasp. “Nick, please…stop it! You’re freaking me out!”
“Then talk dammit!”
“Nothing happened!” Sabrina shouted back to him as more tears ran down her cheek. “He was just being a friend. I don’t have any friends here, Nick. He kept me company…as a friend…nothing else.”
“Bullshit! You don’t fucking kiss friends like that. Did you see the pictures? Wait, my fault, you were in those pictures tonguing down another man every chance you had and inside my house all damn night!”
Sabrina had never seen him so upset before and it was scaring her. She wiped her tears and spoke calmly to try and calm him down.
“Nick, seriously…you need to calm down, okay?”
Nick hit the wall with the palm of his hand above Sabrina’s head making her jump in fear. He backed away from her. Sabrina watched him paced the floor.
“Nick…Im sorry.”
“After everything I fucking do for you! After everything we’ve been thru…I never cheated on you! Never!”
“I didn’t cheat on you, Nick…I -- ”
Nick quickly rushed up to Sabrina and grabbed the photos from the bed and shoved them into her face so she could look at them. The way he moved, Sabrina thought he was going to hit her. She quickly backed into the wall almost bracing herself for him to hit her.
“WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU CALL THIS?!!!” Nick yelled loudly at her as he pushed her shoulders into the wall.
“Hey! Stop it!” Cody shouted grabbing both Sabrina and Nick’s attention as he stood in their bedroom doorway.
“Cody, go to your fucking room!” Nick yelled loudly in anger at Cody as he kept Sabrina barricaded against the wall.
“Cody, sweetie, go to your room, okay?” Sabrina said with her voice trembling.
“No…stop fighting right now! Get away from my mom!” Cody said with a frown as he walked further into the room.
Nick looked back at Sabrina with rage still in his eyes. Sabrina met his eyes as she wondered what he was going to do next. Before Sabrina knew it, Nick drew back his fist and punched the wall inches away from Sabrina’s head forcing Sabrina to scream as she guarded her face and moved her head.
“STOP! Get away!” Cody yelled as he stepped between them and pushed Nick.
Nick stepped away from Sabrina and quickly rushed out of the room in anger.
Sabrina slid down the wall in tears.
Cody rushed behind Nick and stopped to close the bedroom door and locked it to make sure Nick wouldn’t come back into the room with them. Cody turned around and saw a hole in the wall that Nick punched with his bare fist.
“Mom...” Cody said as he saw her on the floor in tears.
“Come here, sweetie.” Sabrina said thru her tears.
“Are you okay?” Cody asked slightly terrified.
Sabrina hugged him tightly as she cried.
Moments later they heard what sounded like the kitchen door slam shut hard making the walls of the house shake.
